My name is Jarrett Malec and I am a senior Public Relations major at Iowa State University. I am originally from Libertyville, Illinois where I first began my desire to enter the field of communications and journalism.

I have always had a passion for writing about and following sports, ever since I could effectively do both. On a day to day basis, I submerge myself in multiple news outlets so as to be up to date on all of the current happenings in the world of sports, specifically the Chicago White Sox.

With graduation looming in 2020, my goal is to find a position within the sports industry, perhaps even with a collegiate or professional team, and work in their public relations or communications department.

During my time her at Iowa State, I have learned that I am most successful when I'm truly motivated, so entering  a field of work that I've always had interest in will be greatly beneficial for me.

While a student at ISU, I have rarely missed any Cyclone football or basketball games, and I've especially enjoyed the fantastic transformation our football program has had in the Matt Campbell era. I got to see some of this first hand with my internship with the ISU Athletics Communications team.
